Following the sun
The 30 MW Cambridge (Matangi) solar farm, located just outside of Cambridge, is currently under construction by NewPower Energy’s sister company Infratec New Zealand, and is estimated to be fully commissioned by early 2027.
Once completed, the farm will comprise more than 45,000 solar panels that track the movement of the sun throughout the day. The site is designed to accommodate livestock grazing alongside the solar infrastructure.
